Golden Gate Bridge

Here is a series of photos of the Golden Gate Bridge, during its construction from 1933-1937.

 Nearing completion in 1937

 The Golden Gate Bridge, nearly complete on November 12, 1936. The warship seen passing under the bridge was on its way to attend the opening of the Oakland Bay Bridge.

 Opening day. The Golden Gate Bridge was opened to pedestrians on May 27, 1937. The next day it officially opened to vehicular traffic.

    1. You are right! I also posted it here (http://historyinphotos.blogspot.com/2013/10/random-vintage.html) as Manhattan Bridge construction, 1909. A careless mistake on my part, thanks for alerting me to it.
