Detroit Publishing - Belle Isle Park, Detroit

The Detroit Publishing Company was a photographic publishing firm. The mostly anonymous photographers who worked for them produced many thousands of "slice-of-life" images from the last decade of the 19th century and the first two decades of the 20th century.

The Library of Congress has two ways to enter their DPC archives: here and here. Shorpy has a huge collection of DPC photos that he has edited. Although his edits are better than mine I am doing him the courtesy of not republishing any of his.

Here is my first set of DPC photos. These are all taken at Belle Isle Park, Detroit.
